iDaC Solutions Managing Director, Paul Cattell, was seeking an alternative lighting solution and wanted to improve the lighting levels throughout their site In Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire. Kyman Ledtex were able to provide a full site survey, an energy savings reports, and a full lighting installation, resulting in an increased LUX light level while providing substantial annual Electricity and CO2 savings.
iDaC Solutions required a lighting upgrade which would be suitable in providing a high quality working environment, while being energy efficient due to their environment concerns. Paul Cattell was pleased to hear that he could also save money just by upgrading to LED, with the recent increase in energy bills, saving money is always beneficial.
Kyman Ledtex replaced iDaC Solutions’ florescent tubes in their warehouse with LED SMD tubes which have shatter proof polycarbonate opal lens and also enable an optimal direction of light due to their adjustable end caps.
Kyman Ledtex were pleased to provide a solution for iDaC Solutions’ whole site providing full project management and installation with minimal disruption to the working environment.
By upgrading their lighting to KYMAN® LED and using systems such as PIR motion sensors in areas of the warehouse with minimal daily usage, iDaC Solutions have saved an excess of 65% on their lighting within their electricity bills, and have reduced their carbon emissions by 7000kg annually.
Paul states: “We installed the lights just before winter and they have since made a huge difference within our premises, especially the warehouse. We had quite a few faulty lights in our warehouse at the time and we were thinking about upgrading our lighting, and rather than paying for hiring a cherry picker and someone to replace the fluorescent tubes, it seemed like a ‘no-brainer’ to directly upgrade to LED tubes, especially when the financial savings we would be making on our electricity bill showed to be extensive.”
Paul explains: “We didn’t even really notice how yellow and dull the lights were before we upgraded. We must have been working under poor light conditions as our old fittings and tubes were not only dim and inefficient, they were also covered in dust and black!”
“It only took a few days to fit the whole site” says Paul, “and we really notice the difference already, it was easy to adjust to the change in light levels.”
Paul was approached by energy companies regarding contract renewal and they were in disbelief of their new energy readings: “One company even accused me of giving them a day rate reading when it was actually a monthly bill!.”
